There is a difference between knowing what a pipefitter does and understanding how pipefitters actually think, measure, calculate, lay out, fit, and build piping systems in the field.

That is why we created the Næxon Pipefitter Course: From Fundamentals to Industrial Pipefitting.

Introducing the Næxon Pipefitter Course: From Fundamentals to Industrial Pipefitting — a 10-part training series covering the fundamentals, calculations, fittings, layout, drawings, fabrication, and practical field knowledge behind industrial pipefitting. Built for aspiring fitters, apprentices, and experienced tradesmen looking to sharpen their skills. Now available in the Næxon Learning Center.

This new 10-part course inside the Næxon Learning Center is designed to build a practical foundation in industrial pipefitting—from understanding pipe sizes and fittings to measurements, calculations, offsets, layout, fabrication, drawings, valves, flanges, and the field knowledge that ties everything together.

Whether you’re trying to enter the trade, you’re an apprentice building your foundation, or you’re already working industrial construction and want to sharpen your knowledge, the course is designed around one idea:

Learn the trade the way it is actually used in the field.

10 Parts. One Foundation.

The course is organized into 10 progressive parts. Each lesson builds on the previous one so you’re not simply memorizing isolated formulas, fitting names, or terminology. You’re learning how the pieces connect.

Throughout the course, we cover the fundamentals of industrial pipe, fittings and components, pipefitter mathematics, measurements, offsets and rolling offsets, fitting takeoffs, layout principles, fabrication, drawings and isometrics, flanges, valves, field verification, and other essential concepts used when turning measurements and drawings into an actual piping system.

The written lessons are also being supported with clean technical diagrams and visual examples designed to make difficult concepts easier to understand.

Built Around Real Pipefitting

Industrial pipefitting is a trade where small mistakes can become expensive problems.

A wrong measurement can ruin a spool. A misunderstood fitting takeoff can move an entire run. A flange clocked incorrectly can create problems during installation. A bad calculation can turn a simple offset into hours of rework.

Good pipefitters learn to think ahead.

Before the cut.

Before the tack.

Before the lift.

Before the pipe ever reaches its final position.

That mindset is built into this course.

Instead of teaching formulas without explaining where they matter, the Næxon Pipefitter Course connects the mathematics and terminology to practical situations a fitter can encounter in fabrication shops, refineries, chemical plants, power plants, industrial facilities, and construction projects.

More Than Reading

The goal of the Næxon Learning Center has always been bigger than publishing random technical articles.

We are building a growing industrial knowledge library for the people who build, maintain, repair, and keep America’s industrial infrastructure running.

The Pipefitter Course takes another step toward that goal.

Each part is designed to give readers knowledge they can carry into the next lesson—and eventually into the field.

You’ll encounter explanations, calculations, field checks, practical exercises, knowledge checks, and technical illustrations throughout the course.

You shouldn’t finish a lesson simply knowing another definition.

You should understand why it matters.

Who Is This Course For?

The course was created primarily for aspiring pipefitters, helpers, apprentices, industrial pipefitters, welders who want a stronger understanding of fitting, and experienced tradesmen who want to refresh fundamentals.

It can also be useful for anyone working around industrial piping who wants a better understanding of how piping systems are measured, calculated, fabricated, and assembled.

No matter where you are in the trade, fundamentals matter.

Experienced fitters may perform calculations almost automatically that once required serious thought. That ability comes from understanding the relationships behind the work and repeating them until they become second nature.

That is what we’re working toward.

Start With Part 1

Don’t jump straight to the complicated calculations.

Start at the beginning.

Part 1 of the Næxon Pipefitter Course establishes the foundation for everything that follows. From there, work through the course sequentially as each lesson builds upon concepts introduced earlier.

The complete course is available through the Næxon Learning Center.
